The National Bank Young Farmer Contest Winner

I wish to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of Blue Wing Honda for your sponsorship of the National Bank Young Farmer of the Year competition. 

It is a huge honour to be given the title for 2010 and it is one that I will put up there alongside my major lifetime achievements.  Since winning the final in Gore life has been rather hectic, but it is now nice to settle into a “normal” routine and press on with the next goals and ambitions I have set myself.  For me the National Bank Young Farmer of the year title has been an aspiration in which I could of only dreamed to attain, one which I seen as a long term goal, at a young age, one which was unachievable, but through personal development and life experience it became achievable.  The grand final in Gore to me was a realisation that I was capable of being the best in New Zealand, and an overwhelming experience.  It is very much a prize and honour which adds to the foundation of where I want to go in life and my business.

To you as a sponsor, I can only give my upmost gratitude and thanks for your effort.  This is not just for the regional and grand final prizes of the two and four wheelers respectively, but mostly for the support and framework that you as an organisation have offered me as an individual.  To the huge amount of people from Honda that feature and are present at the district, regional and grand finals respectively makes the competition what it is.  A special thanks must be given to the Self boys at Oamaru Honda who took time out of their day to help me in my knowledge through mechanical attributes of the bikes, pumps and Honda motors which gave me the upmost confidence in going into the final.  They are an organisation who our entire farming life we have dealt with, never having anything but a Honda bike, based on reliability, service and a good quality product, we have no reason to change, this is a relationship which I am sure we will continue long into the future.
