Go Young Farmers!

Honda is the longest standing partner in the competitions history and is excited that the ultimate rural challenge, 'The National Bank Young Farmer Contest Grand Final' is upon us this week in Masterton Wednesday 29th June - Saturday 2nd July.

We see Honda products as leaders in the field, just as the Contest will produce leaders in the field.

Over the three days of physical and intellectual challenges Honda will be amongst the action in many ways. Local Honda Dealer, Langlands Motorcycles will be onsite at the showgrounds for the practical day with a full range of 2-wheel farm bikes, ATV's, MUV and Power Equipment, so get along and get the best advice from the experts!

Honda will also be supporting the Agri Kids NZ and the Teen AG competitions to help promote the message ""Be safe on the farm, always wear a helmet".

Mr Paul Stewart, Events and ATV Training Manager from Blue Wing Honda says ' the most precious thing on the farm is the safety of our children. Honda has always been at the forefront of Motorcycle and Quad Bike safety and believe that the younger we start with the safety message the better. Honda is pleased to be able to get along side this fabulous initiative. We believe that this embedded farm safety message will flow on to when these children grow up and start to ride Quad bikes at 16. ' 

The seven successful regional winners each received a 2-wheel farm bike, the new Honda XR125 Duster valued at $3,385 +GST. The XR125 Duster is rugged, reliable, low maintenance and able to stand up to NZ's demanding farming conditions. It is packed with unique features like a full farm kit, electric start, 5 speed gearbox, front disc brake and low gearing. In addition to this Honda rewarded the Regional Final runners up with a Honda WB20XTDRXU water pump valued at $899.

The overall winner of The National Bank Young Farmer Contest 2011 will ride away on a Honda TRX420FPM power steer four-wheel drive manual ATV valued at $12,975 +GST. The TRX420FPM is the only mid-size manual power steer with rigid rear beam axle in New Zealand.  The rugged OHV liquid-cooled, fuel injected 420cc longitudinally mounted engine allows direct driveshaft alignment to both front and rear wheels for maximum drivetrain efficiency and more power to wheels.  The TRX420FPM is the ultimate ‘Go anywhere’ ATV. 

Each Grand Finalist will be rewarded with a $1000 retail voucher to spend on the Honda Power Equipment range and also receive a Honda customised ATV oilskin vest valued at $199.
