According to judge, Peter Louisson, the Honda’s light weight, stable chassis, and strong brakes mean the CBR250R can tackle out of town sorties with vigour, while in city traffic its manoeuvrability and single-cylinder economy make it a commuter king. What nailed the win is bang for buck; at $7495 it’s a starter bike that’s a keeper.

Paul Stewart accepted the award on behalf of Blue Wing Honda at the official function at Ellerslie Racecourse on Friday night.

Full results and judges' comments about the overall winner in the 2011 AMI Insurance NZ Autocar Car of the Year will be published in the January issue of NZ Autocar Magazine, on sale 15 December.
