Karl Power race report - Maramurua 3 Day Enduro

Just a quick note about the 3 day. I was keen to continue with the great year I have been having with a win at the M3DE.

The first day was a bit of a roller coaster for me I won the first special test and knew I had room to improve.

By the Third test I was keen to put some time between me and the other competitors so I was pushing hard. I had a massive crash and bent my body and my bike really badly. This wasn't a good impression as one of the BWH team was on hand to see what damage I had done. I quickly repaired my bike and tried to put the pain in the back of my mind. After the first day i won the day by a few seconds.

Day two was about sucking it up and taking the pain and turning it into a positive. I pushed through and again won the day with a few seconds. I was in the lead by 28 seconds going into the final day and I knew I just had to keep doing what I was doing.

I pushed hard for the last day and it came down to the last two tests. By this time the rain had started to set in and it was about keeping the bike up right, I knew I could win this for the second year in a row.

I won 14 out of the 20 special tests and had an overall lead of a minute and a half. As always I was very pleased with how my Honda performed though out the event. I have only realised how special this win is to me over the last two days as I have been in to get my wrist checked up and it turns out i have two broken bones in my left wrist. I am booked in to see a specialist on Monday to see how they can fix it. This could have not come at a better time because I will be getting some corrective surgery on my feet this coming Tuesday which has been long over due so I can be in less pain while I ride.

Thanks for all the support and will up date you all soon.

Regards,

Karl Power
