Jeremy Holmes - Race report Tri series Rnd2
Race report, Tri Series Round 2 – Manfeild After getting a day of practice in at a sopping wet Taupo circuit through the week, we arrived at Manfeild with the goal of another top 10 finish after not having been here for quite some time.

Qualifying was very disappointing for us, it was probably one of the most frustrating times I have ever been on the track, no matter how hard I pushed the times weren’t coming. I ended up way down in 14th on a time well over a second off my previous best lap time.
We got a great start in race 1 and managed to get up to 9th position. After a few laps the race was red flagged after 5 laps due to a crash leaving a bike lying in the middle of the track. I managed to push my lap time down a little but was still struggling.
Race 2 was much the same, we had made a couple of changes to the front to try and get a better feel, but I still struggled, again I got a good start and worked my way through to 10th with 9th in sight. Once again there was a crash that had the race red flagged after 6 laps so we never got a chance to improve our position.
Overall we have come away from the tri series a little disappointed, I had hoped to be more competitive but I couldn’t get a good feel with the bike. We managed to find out a few things about setup so at least we come away with some good data going forward.
We have a bit of a break through Christmas and will be back on the bike for the first round of the NZ national road race champs which kicks off on January 6th at Ruapuna race track in Christchurch which I am really looking forward to.
